A short bio.

More about me…

I was born in Poland during the last decades of the communist regime. Like many politically (and economically) oppressed countries, the population has had to maintain a self-sufficiency in health care. This meant that our family at the time, relied on traditional wisdom for healing. Home remedies like hydrotherapy, the use of food and plants were practical and effective. You could say that many of my childhood experiences initiated me to common sense medicine. This early life exposure remained with me only to be reawakened much later in my new family-life in rural Ontario.

After immigrating to Ottawa, Canada in the early 1980’s I pursued my studies in Architecture (Carleton University ’97) and followed a creative independent career as a designer of furniture, lighting (bakerygroup.com) and tent structures (yurta.ca) which my partners and I continue to develop and make. My decision to study Naturopathic Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine was sparked by the birth our daughter, our new country setting and a desire to learn more about the ultimate designer: nature. I wanted to study, re-evaluate and pass on the wealth of (non-profitable) medical knowledge that had always been present in the world and now I am excited to share it with others.

Today as a practitioner of natural medicine I strive to support the innate healing process by guiding my clients into awareness through self-empowering knowledge and any of the natural therapies that may be appropriate. This implies working with the basics of our physiology, lifestyle, nutrition, connectedness to nature and the self.
